As part of the Affordable Care Act of 2010, there is a re- quirement for the health professional shortage area (HPSA) and medically underserved area/population (MUA) designations to be updated through a Negotiated Rule Making Committee process. The Committee must reach consensus and put forward a recommendation by Octo- ber 2011. Hear from panelists about the implications for change to this designation and about how this could af- fect Kentucky and access to many federal programs.

Start the day in a heart healthy way at the second annual KRHA 2-mile Fun Run/Walk. Depart from the hotel lobby 6:30 a.m. Friday morning. T-shirts for all participants who register, trophy for the fastest. Event sponsored by the Ken- tucky Hospital Association.
Music and Mingling
There will be a reception at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening with re- freshments and entertainment pro- vided by Bowling Green’s Red River Fiddlers. The Red River Fid- dlers is a performing group of all ages dedicated to the study, pres- ervation and performance of old- time fiddling.

KRHA members will be spe- cial guests at the local minor league baseball game featur- ing the Bowling Green Hot Rods vs. Burlington Bees. Transportation provided from the hotel. Departure for game is 6:30 and 6:50 p.m. Transportation back to the hotel every half hour until game ends. Tickets are $8.50 each.
