Murphy’s vehicle was towed by Mayrose Body Shop.


On Thursday, April 22 at 1215 hours, the Le Mars Police Department responded to an accident that occurred in the 800 block of 3rd Ave SW.

Perla Quintanilla, age 16 of Le Mars, was backing out of a parking stall against traffic to head north in a 2004 Chevy Cavalier and failed to see the U.S. Postal Service vehicle parked on the roadway. As a result, Quintanilla’s right rear bumper struck the left side of the Postal Service’s vehicle.

There were no injuries and the driver was wearing her seatbelt.

Quintanilla’s vehicle sustained approximately $200 damage. The U.S. Postal Service’s vehicle sustained approximately $1000 damage.

On 04-09-2010 around 1800 hours, Claudia Davis, 45701 C 16, Remsen, reported that her vehicle, a 2005 Toyota, was stolen while it was parked in front of her place of employment at 614 1st St SE. At 2150 hours the same date, the vehicle was stopped in Orange City and the person operating the vehicle, Paul Wesley Johnson, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without consent. He was jailed in Sioux County. The vehicle was returned to Ms. Davis undamaged.

On 04-09-2010 around 2300 hours, Le Mars Officers responded to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle in the alley behind the Dollar Tree Store. Upon arrival, several young people were gathered there and some had been consuming alcohol. Taylor Coombs, age 16 of Marcus, and Tyler Pearson, also age 16 of Marcus, were issued juvenile citations for possession of alcohol under the legal age. They were released to their parents.

After an investigation into a report of several subjects consuming and abusing prescription drugs and other the counter medications, on 04-13-2010 Aaron Nilles, age 16 of Le Mars, and Dusty Jackson, age 13 of Le Mars, were cited into juvenile court for possession of prescription pills and theft. Also charged was 18-year-old Michelle Holub of Le Mars with child endangerment and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

On 04-08-2010 around 2130 hours, Le Mars officers were called to the Truck Stop in regards to a truck driver causing a disturbance and possible alcohol violations. Upon arrival, Kenneth Simpson, age 43 of Boulder, CO, was found to be intoxicated. He was jailed on the charge.

On 04-15-2010 around 0045 minutes, Le Mars Officers responded to the Baymont Inn for a possible underage drinking party in one of the room. The room was occupied by Jeremiah
