Schumacher, age 19 of Sioux Falls, and two other people. Schumacher was cited for possession of alcohol while being under the age of 21. He was cited and released.
On 04-15-2010 around 0920 hours, Randy Matamoros, age 13 of Le Mars, was cited into juvenile court for an assault that occurred at the Le Mars Middle School.
On 04-18-2010, the Le Mars Police Department completed an investigation into a complaint of sexual abuse of a minor. As a result, Raul Camarena-Salcedo, age 41 of Le Mars, was arrested and charged with sexual abuse 3rd, a class C felony. He was jailed.
On 04-19-2010 around 1806 hours, Le Mars Police were alerted to a suspicious bottle near the playground at Franklin School. Upon investigation, it was identified as a homemade bomb. The witness was able to provide descriptions of the suspects. They were located near the intersection of 3rd St and 4th Ave SE. Because of the nature of the incident, the State Fire Marshall’s Office was contacted. All three subjects were charged with Arson 1st degree, a Class B felony. They were Stratton Weiler, age 14 of Le Mars, Christopher Hamann, age 14 of Le Mars, and Steven Horton, age 15 of Le Mars. They were taken to the Juvenile Detention Center in Cherokee.
On 04-25-2010 around 0115 hours, Barry Weaver, age 51 of Remsen, was observed having a hard time maintaining his balance in the 200 blk of 1st St NE. As a result, Weaver was found to be intoxicated and taken to the Plymouth County Jail and charged with public intoxication.
On 04-25-2010 around 0010 minutes, Kerwin Hilliard, age 48 of Sioux City, was stopped for no plates on his vehicle. He was found to be intoxicated and arrested for OWI. He was transported to the Plymouth County Jail.
On 04-25-2010 around 0155 hours, officers investigated a report of an assault to a female. As a result, Angela Koerner, age 27 of Le Mars, was arrested for serious domestic abuse and taken to the Plymouth County Jail and held until she could see the judge.
On 04-25-2010 around 0237 hours, Le Mars Officers investigated a dispute in the parking lot of Le Mars Estates involving Cruz Antonio Garcia, age 22 of Le Mars. Mr. Garcia was arrested and jailed for disorderly conduct.
On 04-24-2010 around 1310 hours, McKenna Murphy reported that while her vehicle was parked in the 400 blk of 5th Ave SE, someone entered her unlocked vehicle and removed a Tom Tom GPS valued at $200.00. Nothing else was missing and no damage was done.
On 04-26-2010 around 1030 hours, Officers were called to the Le Mars Community School for a drug violation. It was learned that Nicholas Madsen, age 14 of Le Mars, had delivered a Schedule II controlled substance to Skyler Gries, age 14 of Le Mars. Nicholas was charged with delivery and given a juvenile referral. Skyler Gries was charged with possession of a controlled substance and transported to juvenile detention in Cherokee.
