Musical Interpretation and mastery of technique and expression
Musical interpretation is the object of every musician’s research. But, due to a lack in true mastery of technique and expression, such research is often frustrating and tiring, inspite of one's best intentions. This class deals with problems related to interpretation of your musical repertoire or to technique, concentration and different stages of learning; as well as with the complexity of performance in concerts and competitions.
Concentration, emotion and creativity during performance Balance among these three factors produce the ideal state of mind for the musician’s performance. The power to synthesize and tune in emotionally can be obtained only by adequate means. During the seminar we will approach techniques apt to develop the power to merge interpretative emotion and stylistic rigor.
Technique as related to specific historical periods and to filology. This class focuses on a precise analysis of technique in the widest perspective (that is as the ability to produce a sound in a conscious manner and in the best possible way), in relation to the characters of different historical and stylistic periods, starting with Baroque up to contemporary music. Repertoire choice remains up to students
Orchestra auditions and preparation for international competitions The preparation for an orchestra audition or a musical competition is a ‘must’ for a professional musician. Every musician that wants to develop his own activity will before or later be in the need to prepare a competition. This is a very special tipe of preparation that can be very different from the preparation for a concert. The gestion of the stress, and the specific musical preparation are part of our objects for this course.
Relax techniques and stress controle During the cours we will work the musical repertoire, and all relative aspects of a performance. The mechanism of a performance are ‘internal’ (on the Self) and ‘external’ (the technical part on the instrument) and we want to provide a teaching for all those aspects. Participants will be in the possiiblity to experiment yoga, techniques, concentration and emotion.
