      Packaged Materials: Deliver packaged materials in containers showing weight, analysis and name of manufacturer. Protect materials from deterioration during delivery, and while stored at site.

    Deliver, store and protect fertilizer and pesticides in accordance with manufacturers recommendations.

    Deliver fertilizer and pesticides in waterproof bags showing weight, chemical analysis, and name of manufachlrer.

    Install plant materials within 48 hours of delivery or store in accordance with these specifications.

      Handling Materials:

      • 1.

        Trunks, branches, and root balls shall not be damaged during lifting and planting operations.

        Handle container-grown stock only in containers.

  • A.

    Existing Conditions:

    • 1.

      Relocated Plants. Relocate and reuse existing irises and daylilies in south and west courtyards. See Site Demolition - Salvage, Section 02220 for instructions.

    • 2.

      Existing Plants to Remain. Protect existing plants to remain as noted on plans or as directed by Landscape Architect in the field. See Site Demolition, Section 02220 for instructions.

    • 3.

      General: Proceed with and complete landscape work as rapidly as portions of site become available.

    • 4.

      Determine the acceptability of each planting site and subgrade prior to the start of planting work.

    • 5.

      Utilities: Locate all existing underground utilities in the construction area as accurately as is possible. Perform work in a manner, which will avoid damage to underground utilities. Hand excavate as required. Any damage to the utilities shall be repaired by the Contractor at his own expense to the satisfaction of the Owner.

    • 6.

      Grade Stakes: Maintain grade stakes set by others until removal is mutually agreed upon by parties concerned.

    • 7.

      Excavation: When conditions detrimental to plant growth are encountered, such as rubble fill, adverse drainage conditions or obstructions, notify the Landscape Architect before planting.
