CONCRETE REINFORCING

Part 1 - GENERAL

1.01

SCOPE OF WORK

A. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to furnish and install concrete reinforcing complete with all accessories, as described in this section and as shown on the Contract Drawings.

1.02

SUBMITTALS

A. Submit shop drawings for all reinforcing steel including stirrups, ties, corners,

dowels, mesh, etc. Shop drawings shall faithfully implement the Drawings. Accompany all shop drawings with certified mill reports. SHOP DRAWINGS

REVIEWED BY ARCHITECT PRIOR TO FABRICATION OF

REll\fFORCING OR PLACEMENT OF CONCRETE.

    • 1.03

      NOTIFICATION

      • A.

        Contractor shall notify the Architect for inspection of reinforcing plioI' to placement of concrete and during all placements. Notification shall be given at least 2 weekdays before the concrete placement is scheduled.

    • 1.04

      QUALITY ASSURANCE

      • A.

        A. All detailing of reinforcing shall be in accordance with American Concrete Institutes "Manuals of Standard Practice for Detailing Reinforced Concrete Structure". Conform also to American Concrete Institutes "Building Code Requirements for Reinforced Concrete" (ACI 318) as a reference to minimum standards of acceptable practice unless otherwise specified.

Part 2 MATERIALS

    • 2.01

      REINFORCING BARS

      • A.

        ASTM A-615, grade 60, except Grade 40 for ties and stirrups. Mechanical Reinforcing Splices shall be made with LENTON Rebar splices or equal. Bars and coupler shall have tapered thread. Bar lengths shall be 40 diameters, minimum or as shown on details. Strength ofthe splice assembly shall develop strength of bar.
