    • 2.06

      CONCRETE PROPERTIES AND LIMITS

      • A.

        Strength: 3,500 psi, at 28 days unless otherwise noted on Drawings.

      • B.

        Slump: (ASTM C-143) 3 inch maximum for sloping surfaces, stairs and ramps' 4 inch maximum for all other concrete, 1 inch minimum for all concrete. 3inch maximum slump before addition and 8 inch maximum after addition of an approved superplasticizer.

      • C.

        Aggregate Size: Maximum 1 12 inch for footings' maximum % inch for all other concrete.

      • D.

        Air Content: 3% to 6% for exterior site work; 2% maximum for all other concrete. Minimum Cement: 5.5 sacks per cubic yard for all concrete. Iflaboratory mix data and laboratory test results (made within the last 8 months) are not submitted, minimum cement shall be 6.0 sacks per cubic yard for exterior site work (air entrained) and 6.5 sacks per yard for all other concrete.

        Lightweight Concrete: Lightweight concrete shall have a dry weight of not less than 95 pef and not more than 110 pcf at 28 days. Presoak expanded aggregates before introduction into mix as per supplier's recommendations.

      CURING COMPOUNDS

        ASTM C-309 Type I, equal to Burke RES-X. Compounds used must be compatible with adhesives and finishes to be applied to concrete. Apply as per manufacturers recommendations.

PATCHING CEMENT

A. "Set Vertipatch" premixed dry modified Portland Cement mixed with "Acryl-Set" liquid cement fortifier and bonding additives as manufactured by Set Products, Macedonia, Ohio or approved equal.

NON-SHRINK GROUT

A. Five Star or approved equal non-metallic, non-conosive, used in strict accordance with manufacturers recommendations, and where shown on Drawings, ASTM C 827 and C-157 conosive. The grout shall be premixed. The compressive strength shall not be less than 5,000 psi at 2 days and 8,000 psi at 28 days.
