SCOPE OF WORK
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools and equipment required to furnish and install joint sealers, as described in this section and as shown on the Contract Drawings.
The Contractor shall provide descriptive submittals in accordance with the provisions of Section 0100 I of these Specifications. Submittals include, but are not limited to, the following:
Catalog data, manufacturers, handling, installation and curing instructions.
Two samples of each color and type of sealant and caulking.
The terms "caulking" and "sealant" are synonymous.
Joint sealants are required to establish and maintain airtight and waterproof
continuous seals on a pennanent basis, within recognized limitations of wear and aging as indicated for each application. Failures of installed sealers to comply with this requirement will be recognized as failures of materials or workmanship. B. Engage a subcontractor who has successfully completed at least 3 joint sealer applications similar in type and size to that of this project.
Part 2 MATERIALS
Non-staining primer, joint cleaners, oversized closed cell foam rod backup materials and bond breakers shall be as recommended by, and installed per sealant manufacturers recommendations.
Colors of sealant shall match adjacent surfaces as selected by the Architect from the manufacturers standard colors.
Provide materials for compatibility with joint surfaces and other indicated exposures. Provide modulus of elasticity and hardness or grade recommended by manufacturer for each application. Provide manufacturers standard chemically
