Notify Architect/Engineer of unexpected subsurface conditions and discontinue affected work in area until notified to resume work.
Identify and flag known utility locations. Notify utility company to remove and relocate utilities.
Maintain and protect existing utilities to remain.
Verify foundation or basement walls are braced to support surcharge forces imposed by backfilling operations.
Excavate subsoil required for building foundations, piling, construction operations and other Work.
Slope banks to angle ofrepose or less until shored.
Excavation shall not interfere with 45 degree bearing splay of any foundation.
Correct unauthorized excavation at no extra cost to Owner.
Fill over-excavated areas under structure bearing surfaces in accordance with direction by Architect/Engineer.
Stockpile subsoil in area designated on site. Remove excess subsoil not being reused from site.
Excavate for storms sewer, sanitary sewer, electric water, gas and piping to municipal utilities.
Cut trenches sufficiently wide to enable installation of utilities and allow inspection.
Hand trim excavation and leave free ofloose matter. Hand trim for bell and spigot pipe joints.
Support pipe and conduit during placement and compaction ofbedding fill. Backfill trenches to required contour and elevations.
Place and compact fill materials as for Backfilling.
Backfill areas to contours and elevations. Use unfrozen and unsaturated materials.
Backfill systematically, as early as possible, to allow maximum time for natural settlement. Do not backfill over porous, wet, frozen or spongy sub grade surfaces.
Place geotextile fabric over unstable subsoil.
Place and compact fill materials in continuous layers not exceeding 8 inches loose depth.
Employ a placement method so not to disturb or damage foundations, foundation perimeter drainage, foundation waterproofing and protective cover, or utilities in trenches.
