Slabs should bear on a minimum of three feet of structural fill.

Prior to

placing slabs or structural fill, the natural soils should be stripped of vegetation,

scarified

to

a

depth

of eight

inches,

and

moistened

to

a

near

optimum

(+3%)

moisture content.

The exposed soils should then be compacted to a minimum of

95% of maximum density as determined by ASTM D-1557. All fill should be placed and compacted as detailed in the attached Appendix.
