    • A.

      The controller shall be as specified on the Drawings or an approved eqivalent. Programming of controller shall be done in coordination with the Owner's landscape maintenance agent.

      • 2.06

        WIRE

    • A.

      Controller to Valve Stations. Wire shall be UL approved for direct burial, type UF, Gauge shall be No. 14 AWG and common shall be 12 gauge, unless noted otherwise on the drawings. Wire shall be manufactured in minimum 2,500-foot reels. Control wire must be insulated, single strand copper designed for 24 to 50 volts and copper strand must meet or exceed ASTM B-3 specifications.

      • 2.07

        WIRE SPLICING MATERIALS

    • A.

      All electrical wire splices must be made watertight using an approved sealing material such as PenTite PVC socket and sealing plug, Rainbird Pt-IOO Series or an approved equivalent. All wire splices shall be done only in valve boxes.

      • 2.08

        REDUCE PRESSURE BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICE

    • A.

      Backflow preventer shall be of the type indicated on the Drawings or an approved substitute, installed in conformance with local codes. Submit hot-box manufacturer's information for approval prior to ordering.

      • 2.09

        FREEZE PROOF HYDRANT

    • A.

      Freeze Proof Hydrant shall be as specified on the DrawIngs or approved equal.

      • 2.10

        POP-UP SPRAY HEADS

        • A.

          Pop-up spray heads shall be as specified on the Drawings. No substitutes. Radius and

arc adjustments shall be set to insure even coverage and avoid overspray.

    • 2.11

      EMITTERS:

      • A.

        Emitters and related piping shall be as specified on the Drawings or an approved substitute. Provide "U" anchors as needed to hold lines in place.

    • 2.12

      BACKFILL

      • A.

        Backfill material on pipes two (2) inch diameter and over shall be fine grain sand or clean fill, to a minimum depth of four inches above pipe and two inches below the pipe. Approved backfill clean of debris and free of stones over I inch may be used for the remainder of the backfill.
