Maintain lawns for not less than the period stated below, and longer as required to establish an acceptable lawn.
Sodded Lawns: Not less than 60 days after substantial completion as determined by the Landscape Architect.
Maintain lawns by watering fertilizing, weeding, mowing, trimming and other operations such as rolling, regrading and replanting as required to establish a smooth, acceptable lawn, free of eroded or bare areas. Irrigate by means of the underground automatic irrigation system, as often as necessary, to promote healthy grass growth and until a thick, even stand of grass has been obtained. Maintain the lawn between 2-112 inches tall and 4 inches tall, keeping mower lawn blades a minimum 2-1/2 inch high for cutting. After the first mowing, the turf shall be fertilized with the approved fertilizer at the rate of 15 Ibs. per 1,000 square feet.
CLEANUP AND PROTECTION
During the work, keep all pavements clean and work area in an orderly condition.
Protect existing clements from damage due to sodding operations, operations by other contractors, other trades and trespassers. Maintain protection during installation and maintenance periods. Treat, repair or replace damaged work to the satisfaction of the Owner at no cost to the Owner.
OBSERVATION AND ACCEPTANCE
When work is completed, including maintenance, the Landscape Architect will make an inspection for acceptance.
All sod must be well-rooted into subgrade and any bare spots, low areas, or dead grass must be repaired or replaced to the satisfaction of the Owner prior to acceptance.
When observed work does not comply with requirements, replace rejected work and continue specified maintenance until re-observed by Landscape Architect and found to be acceptable. Remove rejected sod promptly from project site.
