Sprinkle sod with water and cover with moist burlap, straw or other approved covering, and protect from exposure to wind and direct sunlight. Covering should permit air circulation to alleviate heat development.
Keep fertilizer in dry storage away from contaminants.
Sequencing and Scheduling: Schedule to lay sod after installation and approval of the complete irrigation system in the area and soil preparation.
A. Warranty sodded areas through specified maintenance period, as outlined herein, and as per the warranty requirements of the General Conditions of the Contract.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
Provide strongly rooted sod, not less than two years old, free of weeds and undesirable native grasses and machine cut to pad thickness of% inch (+/- 114 inch), excluding top growth and thatch. Provide only sod capable of vigorous growth and development when planted. Sod grass shall be viable, and not dormant at time of installation.
Provide sod of uniform pad sizes with maximum 5% deviation in either length or width. Broken pads or pads with uneven ends will not be acceptable. Sod pads incapable of supporting their own weight when suspended vertically with a firm grasp on upper 10% of pad will be rejected.
Turf sod shall be: Reveille Kentucky Grass Sod, Available: Gardner Turf Farms, Inc., Estancia, NM (505) 384-4089.
Quality shall conform to ASPA Guidelines Specifications for Sodding.
Exact fertilizer mix may be altered to reflect results of soil analysis. For purposes
of bidding provide Gro-Power Plus 5-3-1 with soil penetrant. Apply at 150 lbs. to 200 lbs. per 1000 square feet. Rototill Gro-Power Plus into the top 6" to 8" of soil.
