“Stewardship is God’s way of building Christian character, not man’s way of raising funds”.
Thanks to all of you who have been so faithful in giving every week. Remember, you are giving back to God for what He has given you. The church is just a tool God uses to help those less fortunate than we are.
Our annual yard sale was very successful. We made a profit of $1,343.85. This was added to the kitchen fund for the renovation. Thanks to everyone for their hard work and donations.
Our Dog Ministry is becoming more and more popular with frequent requests for visits from our local assisted living and nursing care facilities. Recently, they have made visits to Loyalton in Harrisonburg and Journey’s Crossing in Elkton. There are now five of our church members and their wonderful dogs that have become involved in this amazing ministry. For more information, please contact Ruth Ann Armentrout at 434-1122, or email@example.com.
Please mark your calendar for 9/13 @ 6pm as the next PPR meeting at the church.
Please note the Pastor’s new cell phone number is 540-705-6766.
Conference is in Norfolk June 13-16th, so our kits need to be in by June 7th. There is a list on the UMW bulletin board of what is needed for each kit. You may assemble a complete kit, give some items for a kit, or give a monetary gift to be used to purchase items needed. Please remember those in need and what a small thing like this can mean to someone who has nothing. If you have questions, please call 289-5045 or email PhylFoltz@aol.com
Our Mission Event, "Who Is My Neighbor", went very well. It was so informative. We had people from five different cultures tell us their stories. We are so blessed to live in this country. Listening to their stories gave us insight into the difficulty these people have in their every day lives. It really brought home how much we, the average citizen don't know about our immigrant neighbors.
Do you wonder how we can help their situations? Go to www.dreamact.com and learn how we can make a difference by making your voice heard for many young people. Christians can make a difference; we just have to know how to help. After attending our event, people told me they will never look at their neighbor in the same way again, that they have new hearts to view their situations.
