Figure 16-9: Block average grades vs. LDD average grades

A validation check for global bias was completed by comparing the OK block model estimates to a Nearest Neighbour (NN) block model estimate generated using the same search criteria and accumulated at a zero cut-off within the constraining pit shell. Results demonstrate a minimal degree of overall smoothing. Over-smoothing of the OK estimate relative to the NN estimate to the east of the deposit is a function of two high-grade bottom-of-the-drillhole LDD batch samples along the distal limits of the PPK, which disproportionately influence adjacent blocks during nearest neighbour assignment (Figure 16.10).
