*includes carats recovered in grease table tailings and picked concentrate audits. **based on calculated tonnage

Utilizing the entire LDD sampling (103 LDD holes) and processing (96 LDD holes processed) dataset a total of 1,416.696 carats were recovered from 11,662.87 processed tonnes (19,977.59 in-situ tonnes) of kimberlite.

Eight LDD holes completed in July and August, 2008 resulted in the recovery of a total of 35.99 carats of commercial sized diamonds >0.85 mm from a total of 450.9 processed tonnes (791.58 in-situ tonnes) of kimberlite (Table 15.3). All diamond concentrate samples were dispatched by Shore and processed by SGS Lakefield and SGS Saskatoon for final diamond recovery.

DIAMOND CHARACTERISTICS

Of 82,482 stones (10,861.16 carats) recovered from the underground bulk sampling program, 93 stones exceed five carats, representing eight percent of the total carat weight. Sixty-six percent of the recovered stones are classified as White.

Of the 14,419 stones (1,336.29 carats) recovered from the Star Diamond Project LDD mini-bulk sampling program, 10 stones exceed five carats, representing 6.8% of the total carat weight. Seventy-two percent of the recovered stones are classified as White.

Full details of the characteristics of the stones from the two bulk sampling programs are given in Eggleston et al. (2008).
