Strategies Develop School-specific processes and procedures that reflect an awareness of disability-related issues and which are inclusive of and responsive to students with disabilities

Promote discussion of issues related to students with disabilities undertaking professional placements and/or work integrated learning activities and/or volunteer/community service activities and develop guidelines and resources where necessary

Facilitate discussion about issues related to course and curriculum development

required by accrediting/professional registration bodies

Ensure the introduction of any new systems, technologies, equipment includes a review of potential impact on people with disabilities

Develop schedule and procedures for auditing technology built into teaching environments – e.g. hearing loop systems, audio recording facilities

Review procedures to manage students who have episodic conditions that may result in them being unable to respond to their academic or administrative responsibilities
