Payne: And then did you continue living in her house?
13:13 Ray: Yes. And then we tore it down and I built a new one.
Payne: Oh, you did? What kind of house did you build?
Ray: A brick house. (laughter)
Payne: I thought you might be about to say that.
Ray: I nice house.
Payne: Yes, and …
Ray: The house she’d bought was an old house. She just paid a thousand dollars for it. Back then that was cheap, so we lived in it a long time and then it was just about ready to be tore down and then I built a new one.
14:05 Payne: Well did you buy your own china and silver and crystal and things like that?
Ray: Well, if I could afford it.
Payne: You had your own pattern?
Payne: What was your pattern?
Ray: My silver pattern was Strasburg. (laughter) Is that yours?
Payne: Yes, ma’am. (laughter)
Ray: It was cheap back then, wasn’t it? And my crystal pattern was LaVar Is that yours?
Payne: No. I don’t know that one but …
Ray: Back then it was cheap.
Payne: And what was your china?
Ray: I don’t think I had any china.
Payne: What were your dishes like?
Ray: I don’t remember. I guess it was some we got at the grocery store pretty cheap.
