Father of the college band.  Director of Bands at the University of Illinois.

Dale C. Harris (1900-) American School Band Directors Association

Former director at Pontiac, Michigan. Founder and Honorary Life President of the American School Band Directors Association.

Dr. Mark H. Hindsley (1905-)  University of Illinois

Transcriber of historical masterpieces for band and Director of Band; at the University of Illinois.

Colonel George S. Howard (1903-) Troy State University

Conductor and music director of the United States Air Force Symphony and Orchestra.  Chairman of the John Philip Sousa Foundation.

Karl Lawrence King (1891-1971) North Central Iowa Bandmasters Association and the Iowa Bandmasters Association.

World-famous composer of marches and other band music.  Directed Barnum & Bailey's Circus Band and the Dodge, Iowa, Municipal Band.

Samuel R. Loboda (1916-1977) U.S. Army Band

.Director of the U.S. Army Band. Composer of "Night of the Miracle."

Archie R. McAllister (1883-1944) The School Musician

Director of the Joliet, Illinois High School Band. President of the National School Band Association.

James Neilson (1902-) G. Leblanc Corporation

Famous conductor of band and chorus.  Former director of the Oklahoma City University Band. Past President and Honorary Life Member of the C.3.D.N.A.

Authur Pryor (1870-1942) Ludwig Industries

Famous trombone soloist with Sousa.  Later conducted Pryor's Band.  He was the first well-known band conductor to make phonograph records.

Dr. William D. Revelli (1902-) University of Michigan

Former director of the University of Michigan Bands.  Founder and Honorary Life President of the C.B.D.N.A.

Frank Simon (1889-1967) University of Arizona

Famous cornet virtuoso and soloist with Sousa.  Later became conductor of the American Rolling Mills Company Band.

John Philip Sousa (1854-1932) National Band Association

Director of the U.S. Marine Band, and later of Sousa's Band from 1892 to 1932.  His band took yearly tours of the United States, and five world tours.
