The proposed regulations required by Chapter 324, Statutes of 2007 (formerly AB 771) were published in the California Regulatory Notice Register on February 27, 2009. This begins the forty-five day public comment period.
General Counsel, Linda Berg-Gandara will be leaving CDFA in mid-March. She is returning to the Department of Justice.
State employee furloughs will transition to a self-directed model. This allows state offices to operate on normal business days. Staff will work with management to choose furlough days that are least disruptive.
Administrative Services Division
Letters notifying the agricultural commissioners of their share of the Unclaimed Gas Tax subvention will be sent in early March, with payment to be issued in mid- to late March.
Mike Cleary has been appointed to the position of Emergency Management Liaison for the Division of Administrative Services. In this capacity, Mike will represent CDFA in many of the emergency management committees and ad hoc groups. Mike will also work with the Plant and Animal programs to coordinate needed administrative support during emergency responses.
Oral exams will be held from March 23rd to April 10th. The following are the locations, dates, and rotating panel members. Jim Shattuck and Kevin Masuhara will be on all panels.

A comprehensive program overview was recently presented to the Wine Institute to help stakeholders better understand what the program has accomplished. PD/GWSS staff are planning outreach efforts to present the information to local groups in the upcoming months.
