It is the purpose of this Policy Manual to provide assistance and direction to those who are responsible for the operating requirements of competitive minor hockey teams in the area formerly known as Goulbourn Township and covered by the Richmond/Munster Minor Hockey Association and the Stittsville Minor Hockey Association.
2.OBJECTIVES OF THE CLUB
To organize, promote and develop competitive hockey within the area formerly known as Goulbourn Township.
To ensure that team management provides the opportunity for each member of a team to improve his or her skills and knowledge of hockey, while emphasizing good sportsmanship and citizenship.
The Goulbourn Rams Minor Hockey Club (GRMHC) is a non-profit recreational sport society responsible for competitive minor hockey within the boundaries established by the Richmond-Munster Minor Hockey Association (RMMHA) and the Stittsville Minor Hockey Association (SMHA). GRMHC is responsible to, and receives its mandate from the RMMHA and the SMHA who in turn receive their authority from the Canadian Hockey Association (CHA) through the Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association (ODMHA).
The duties and responsibilities of the GRMHC are outlined in Bylaws of both “home” Associations. All minor hockey participation is governed by the CHA “Constitution, Bylaws, Regulations” and “Official Hockey Rules”. In Eastern Ontario participation is additionally governed by the ODHA “Constitution, Bylaws, and Regulations”. Competitive participation in GRMHC is governed by its “Policies and Operating Procedures” and the Rules and Regulations of the ODMHL leagues in which the GRMHC participates.
4.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF COACHING STAFF
The GRMHC Committee requires a high standard of conduct from its coaching staff in dealing with other coaches, referees and other officials and in the image projected to participants and parents of the GRMHC. The coaching staff is an integral part of the Club and is expected to support the decisions of the Executive and/or the Committee, and abide by the GRMHC Policies.
