All players must be carded electronically using the ODMHA carding system and filed with the ODMHA through the Registrar for District Four before the team’s first league game.
8.PLAYER AGE CATEGORIES
GRMHC operates a minor/major (A&B) system throughout the various age divisions as endorsed by the C.H.A. operating guidelines, and as provided by the O.D.M.H.A. ‘A’ and ‘B’ leagues. As such, the Club operates under the premise that all players will play within their respective age group; with the provision that ‘B’ League teams are open to both “Major” and “Minor” age players.
Exceptions to the above will only be permitted under very special warranted circumstances, providing the following procedure is followed:
A written request must be provided by the coach of the higher age category team detailing all pertinent data and providing reasons for the request. The written request must be given to the Director, Hockey Operations, who will in turn present it to the Club Directors for consideration and decision.
Decisions on the acceptance of import players will be made on a case-by-case basis by the Club’s Executive Committee. Should the decision be to accept an import, approval by District Four is required as per the Transfer Policy of the O.D.M.H.A.
Procedure for the request to use an import is as follows:
A written request must be provided by the coach of the team wishing to accept the import player detailing all pertinent data and providing reasons for the request. The written request must be given to the DHO, who will in turn present it to the Club’s Executive Committee for consideration and decision for recommendation to the prospective receiving Association.
GRMHC endorses and uses a system whereby teams of a higher age or level category are permitted to affiliate players from a lower age (or level) category team so that players may be used occasionally by the higher team in accordance with league and branch rules.
