players must obtain permission from that player’s coach or manager.  At no time shall the player in question be approached prior to approval having been obtained.

Before any affiliated player is permitted to “play up” a sixth game after the league mandated deadline, (which could change each year) under the affiliated player provision, approval by Club Directors must be obtained.

As a practical suggestion, teams are advised to use their affiliated players towards the end of the season in meaningful situations.

11.PLAYER RELEASES

No players carded with GRMHC teams may be released (cut) after October 20, without prior approval from the Director, Hockey Operations.  Team management must make its wishes known in such cases to the DHO.  Only in exceptional cases will releases be considered after October 20th of any playing season.

Players wishing voluntary release may approach the Director, Hockey Operations directly if team management is not responding to his/her request for release.

Such final requests for release must be brought to the attention of the DHO, who shall endeavour, after a thorough review to resolve the situation and shall act at his/her discretion, deciding if the request is valid or not, and shall so advise the President.  If the request is not considered valid by the DHO, then he shall so advise the President and the request for release will be brought up at the next Club Executive meeting.  The President will so inform the player and parent(s) of the decision and they may attend the Executive Meeting to request the release.

12.TEAM ROSTERS

The GRMHC believes that all teams should select and card at least fifteen (15 = 9+4+2) players, however, as the GRMHC exists at the pleasure of the two Community Associations, decisions on roster size may be taken by the Executive Committee so as to protect the viability of the Community Associations.  Where necessary, with proper review, the decision of the Club’s Executive Committee will be binding on all parties.

13.CONTACT WITH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION PLAYERS  

Team management is not permitted to contact Community Association players either directly or indirectly.  Teams wishing to attract Community Association players must advise the President of the GRMHC, who will review the request, and if deemed appropriate, will pursue the matter with the President of the
