Field and Facility Reservation Application Instructions

The City of San Leandro Recreation and Human Services Department has developed these policies to govern the use at all City fields and tennis courts for tournament and league play.  The City of San Leandro Recreation and Human Services Department oversees the following fields and facilities:  4 tennis venues, 2 lighted;

2 soccer fields, 1 lighted; 6 softball fields, 4 lighted; and, 9 baseballs fields, 4 lighted.   City facilities are designed to host various levels of tournament and league play for local, regional and state competitions.  

The following information shall apply to any group that is requesting the use of City fields and facilities for

the purpose of operating a tournament and/or league games, practices, and programs.  The terms and

conditions contained in this policy are limited to City fields and facilities only.  Other City of San Leandro buildings, community centers, parks or picnic areas are subject to other terms and conditions and fees, and require a different application.   

Rules and Regulations:

1.

Processing an Application:  Complete attached Field Reservation Application detailing the exact needs for your event, specifying all dates, times and number of fields or tennis courts to be used.  Tournament and/or league requests may be submitted the first week in December for the following calendar year. The league season for softball, baseball, soccer and football is from March 1 through October 25.  Any other requests for fields use must be approved by the Recreation and Human Services Department.    City tennis courts are available year round.

Field assignments will be prioritized as follows:

1.

City of San Leandro programs and joint use agreements between the City and

San Leandro Unified and San Lorenzo Unified School Districts

2.

Resident youth sports leagues (at least 50% of team members reside in San Leandro)

3.

Resident adult sports leagues and teams

4.

Private school interscholastic sports teams

5.

Nonresident youth sports leagues

6.

Nonresident adult sports leagues
