Industrial metals are trading marginally higher on International bourses today. We expect prices to trade higher for the following day supported by supply disruptions in Indonesia and Chille and positive data from the United States.

MARKET ROUNDUP

Industrial metals surged to within 5 percent of its all-time high on Thursday, as a confluence of bullish factors continued to feed a surprisingly strong summer rally.

Freeport Indonesia workers may extend for a further week a strike that has crippled copper output at the huge Grasberg mine, driving up the metal's prices, if talks with management on Friday do not bring a deal on pay,the trade union said.

Prices of industrial metal copper jumped to their highest in more than two months after data from the United States showed better-than-expected jobs growth, while a softer dollar also helped reinforce positive sentiment.

Zambia's Munali nickel mine has resumed underground operations that were suspended in June due to ventilation problems, a company official said on Wednesday.
