BOSSIER PARISH POLICE JURY BENTON, LOUISIANA MINUTES August 15, 2001
The Bossier Parish Police Jury met in regular and legal session on this 15th day of August, 2001,
at 2:00 p.m., in the Police Jury Meeting Room, Bossier Parish Courthouse, Benton, Louisiana. The
President, Mr. Jesse Williams, called the meeting to order. The invocation was given by Mr. Dennis
Woodward and the pledge of allegiance was led by Mr. Winfred Johnston. The Secretary-Treasurer,
Cheryl Martin, called the roll, with all members present, as follows:

Others present were Mr. Dennis Woodward, Parish Administrator; Mr. Patrick Jackson,
Parish Attorney; Cheryl Martin, Secretary-Treasurer.
Motion was made by Dr. Shell, seconded by Mr. Darby, to adopt the minutes of the July
18, 2001 regular meeting, as published. Motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Woodward presented a resolution adopted by the police jury on August 1, 2001,
commending Mr. Sammy Johnson, Ms Patricia Scroggins and Ms. Bonnie Coleman, employees at
the Bossier Parish Juvenile Detention Center, for their efforts in providing life sustaining measures
to an inmate at the facility who suffered a severe seizure.
Motion was made by Mr. Avery, seconded by Mr. Hammack, to deviate from the
agenda to allow Mr. Rob Stinson to address the jury as agenda item no. 19. Motion carried
Mr. Duxie Scott, Dr. David Brian, and Mr. Dan Newman, representatives of the Bossier
