Mr. Meachum reported that Ms. Helen Black with Horseshoe Casino has indicated that

Horseshoe Casino has expressed an interest in donating such items as linens, computers, furnishings,

etc., to the detention center.

Mr. Woodward presented a draft edition of the Bossier Parish and Bossier City Flood Hazard

Mitigation Plan, advising that a public hearing should be scheduled to receive public input on the

proposed plan. Motion was made by Mr. Hammack, seconded by Mr. Cochran, to schedule a

public hearing on September 5, 2001, to receive public input on the development of a Flood

Hazard Mitigation Plan for Bossier Parish. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Mr. Rogers, seconded by Mr. Darby, to schedule a public hearing

on September 19, 2001, to consider approval of the plat of the proposed development of

Princeton Estates, Unit No. 3, located in Section 6, Township 18 North, Range 11 West, Bossier

Parish, LA. Motion carried unanimously.

Motion was made by Mr. Hammack, seconded by Dr. Shell, to adopt a resolution to

urge and request Governor Mike Foster, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and

Development and the Federal Highways Administration to expedite the I-49 extension from I-

220 in Shreveport to the Arkansas state line. Motion carried unanimously.
