Audit of railway stations –started.
NB - Hungerford, Mick got left on the platform, was booked 24hours in advance, doors opened and no-one helped him onto the train. Taxi was offered but in all would have taken another 30 minutes on the journey time, identified a failing in the process.
Ramps were actually locked away.
NB - East of district has been found to be much less accessible.
Action - A railways access wish list needs to be put together, and then discussed with relevant people.
Disability awareness training for taxi drivers - Brian Levy putting together some information, Janet already put together, time scale Jan / March stakeholder meetings, April training role out. Very delicate matter, licensing is self funding, so not a lot available to pay for it, incentive could be that they are added to travel guides etc. Just need to plug away.
Action - 13 wheelchair taxi’s, telephone no’s to be added to website.
WBDA to make a presentation to the Task Group overseeing Northbrook Street ‘enhancements’ – the main issue is the positioning of lampposts.
Eastern focus group [Jason Teal] Good meeting. Very successful.
Alison – free Computer training, no facility for visually impaired people. (IT Now/Newbury College)
Action Mick to contact IT now/Newbury College

John Holt noted that on the home care side since Suzanne has new boss home care users group has now been cancelled! Quality assurance group, workload large, questionnaires have been mailed out.
Action - How do we get the user group back John Holt will talk to John Dolton to reinstate the group.
