Commonalities: Common elements of structure, common issues, common trends, common

lessons, ....

Controversies: Structural differences: representation rules, accession, etc.  The role and place of: regional counterparts (Mercosur, EBRD, Asian Monetary Fund, etc.), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs ... but including business?), and the “public” or “private sector.”  When is the right time and manner to enlarge, to transform, to die?   To cooperate across institutions?  Will global market institutions eclipse inter-national institutions?

Ideal, nascent, and twinkle-in-the-eye institutions:

Global Environmental Organization (GEO).

Global Food & Drug Administration.

Global Competition (Antitrust) Authority.
