several islands in Hawaii, and then rode cross country ending in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  

Engaging and entertaining, Dew highlights the problems faced by a young, single woman

bicycling alone.

Voiland takes up bicycle touring in 1977 to complete multiple rides through the contiguous forty-eight states over a twelve year period.  Throughout he continually displays the mistakes made by both novice riders and writers.
