Description Johnny’s Airport Adventure role-play activity has been designed by NASA’s Ultra-Efficient Engine Technology Office to familiarize students with basic airport terminology. Due to the ongoing changes in airport security, the educator may also choose to use this activity as an opportunity to promote the overall positive and exciting experience associated with commercial air travel to young children.
The make-believe story, “Johnny’s Airport Adventure,” focuses on a young boy and his family as he journeys to the airport for his first airplane ride. Using the role-play activity, students can act out Johnny’s adventure in the classroom as well as address any concerns they may have about flying.
