Read aloud the story “Johnny’s Airport Adventure” (pages 9–11) making sure to emphasize and explain the highlighted words.
Present the storyboard and display it in an area that is easily accessible to the students.
Call on students to correctly identify parts of the airport.
Have the students place the correct label on the board using tape or sticky tack (i.e., stick the label “terminal” on the picture of the terminal on the storyboard).
Encourage students to also place the cutouts of the various aircraft and characters on the storyboard where they feel they belong.
