Helping small business connect with big business, the third Networking Breakfast of 2007 is set for Thursday, September 6, 7:30-9:00am at the Chamber. Presented by the Small Business Networking Task Force, these morning sessions create a link between small and large businesses, provide valuable information and offer attendees the chance to promote their products and services to a wide variety of new potential clients. Guest speakers are Anita Davis and David Fahsbender, The Bakersfield Californian; Toni Snyder, AGM California; and Randy Warwick, KGET-TV 17. The 4th Annual Community Partners in Education Day is set for Friday, Sept. 21. Enjoy breakfast while discussing educational issues with Bakersfield City School District leadership from 8-9:30am at the DoubleTree Hotel. Individual school site visits with the principal follow from 9:30-11am. Recognizing that business plays a valuable role in influencing a student's career choice and motivating them to learn, over 130 businesses participated in last year’s event. Principal Partners Day highlights KHSD's career and technical programs
The Kern High School District's 2007 Principal Partners Day is set for Wed. Oct. 10, starting at 7 a.m. at the Kern Agricultural Pavilion, 3300 East Belle Terrace Ave.
More than 400 local business, government and education officials are expected to participate and will receive a first-hand glimpse of district vocational programs including academies, electives and other programs that prepare students for the workforce
Following a brief morning session, participants will be transported to a school site to visit classrooms and speak with the principal, teachers and students.
Principal Partners Day concludes with a luncheon and presentation of the district' s annual Jim Burke Light & Liberty Award for service to Kern County education.
