Using the provided constraints we will be able to successfully build a voltage amplifier that will amplify a 5Vrms (7.07Vp-p), 10mArms (14.14mAp-p) AC sinusoidal signal from a function generator to 120Vrms (169.71Vp-p), 7.07Arms (10 Ap-p) AC sinusoidal signal.

4. APPROACH

4. 1. Design Record – phase 1.

4-a.  We started by studying the characteristics of single transistor topologies.

Fig. 1.1.  This is a basic diagram we started with to get a feel of how some transistors operate in non-ideal surroundings. Fig. 1.1. CE amplifier topology.

Fig 1.2. Current Follower.  We looked at the basic current follower to see if we can up the current for our second stage.

* At this point, we do realize the need for two stages.  One to up the voltage, and another to up the current.
