Volume 4, Issue 1
Next SSG Christian Normandy took SSG Langley, SGT Gills, SGT Dunham, SGT Turner, SGT Bingham, SPC Sears, and SPC Nicholas to Savannah, GA, also in support of NOAA, to complete various scuba diving jobs at Grey’s Reef Marine Sanctuary. During that same week SSG Dodd, 1LT Kozlowski, SSG Lester, and SPC Norsesian performed a hydrographic survey in San Diego, CA for the upcoming Joint Logistics Over the Shore (JLOTS) mission. In addition to these missions, we have team members planning on attending dive jobs all over the world, from Korea, to Rhode Island, Seattle, Vietnam, and back.
After an almost four year hiatus, the 544th is honored to welcome back SSG Donald Roger Lester to the Army dive field. We are happy to have you back Big Buddy. We’ve also had a couple additions to the deep sea family in the past few months. SGT Henderson and his wife Jennifer welcomed their first son, Gage, into the world in January. Also SGT Whitney Fuller, the team’s medic, had his NINTH child in February, a girl. Unfortunately, the 544th also said goodbye to SGT Kyle Broughton, SPC Winston Edwards, and SGT Brian Myers. All three of them spent four years in the Army, and completed a tour in Kuwait/Iraq with the 544th in support of Iraqi Freedom. They were all assets to this team and will be missed. Best of luck fellas, fair winds and following seas. Other than that we’ll keep you all updated as we continue to dive the world and rock out. HOOYAH!! DEEP SEA!!!
