Compress the shock spring to expose the locking nut below the shock head (the shock head is the end that was secured in the frame downtube, not the end that was attached to the swing arm). Loosen the locking nut, and screw the shock head off. Below is a picture illustrating the removal of the shock head…

Install the new Scootworks Shock Head (adjustable lowering kit) on the shock. Screw the adjustable lowering kit all the way down and onto the shock rod. Tighten the locking nut, and remove the spring compressor.

HINT: Additional lowering can be had by removing approximately 3/8" of the threaded shock rod, before installing the Scootworks adjustable lowering kit. Removal is simple…simply saw it off with a hacksaw and fine tooth metal cutting blade. Use a sanding block or file to smooth the edges of the rod after the cut is complete, and run the locking nut off and on the shock rod a few times to clean the threads. You can also clean the threads with a m14x 1.25 die.
