Through the Back Door: Domestic Service at Clayton Look at the beautiful parlor and tidy bedrooms of Clayton from a new perspective—that of the household staff. Newly discovered primary documents including Frick payrolls and handwritten work assignments, as well as touchable implements such as sadirons and handheld laundry agitators, help students compare and contrast the daily lives of working and privileged classes in the Gilded Age.
