may be difficult or impractical to field measure items every day. In those situations, the basis of estimate used should be similar to those formerly used for Current RWPs (% Plan Quantity, Rough Field Measurement, Approximate Station Measurement, etc.). When a basis of estimate other than actual field measurement or actual field count is sued, the basis of estimate used to determine the Placed Quantity for each location should be shown using the Remarks icon on the Record Work Item window.
As the project nears completion, the Inspector and Office Technician should review the past DWR entries for all items with specification Methods of Measurements that require actual field measurement or actual field counts to determine if all of the locations reported have been properly measured and paid for. If necessary, a Final Field Measurement may be performed to document the locations and measurements for each location. This Final Field Measurement should show the location, dimensions, and calculations (as required) and final pay quantity for each location where work was performed) OR for only those locations that were not previously documented with actual field measurements). The Final Field Measurement should be entered into a DWR either using a Remark on the Record Work Item window or an electronic attachment to the Record Work Item window. See Figure 109-1 for an example of a remark reflecting a Final Field Measurement.
Refer to the “AHTD SiteManager Inspectors Guide” and the “AHTD SiteManager User Guide for Resident Engineer Offices” for detailed procedures for SiteManager Daily Work Reports.
