This memo shall contain a complete inventory of the items salvaged. If the quantity salvaged is not the same as designated on the plans or in the contract, an explanation of the reason(s) for such difference will be included in the notification memo.
The District Engineer will then notify the Construction Office, by memo, of the quantity of the salvaged material. The disposition of the material (and its value, if it is taken into stock) will be shown in this memo. The District Engineer should follow the procedures outlined in the Accounting Manual.
When the material is to remain the property of an agency other than the Department, the District Engineer shall be notified as above, and in addition, the agency shall be notified by letter from the Resident Engineer. The Resident Engineer shall document the disposition of the material, showing the date(s) the material was picked up or delivered, the identification of the agency that picked up the material and/or the location to which it was delivered.
