a. Federal Aid contracts state that certain information must be displayed in a conspicuous place on the project so that interested persons may be readily aware of their contents. A list of notices and posters that must be displayed on all Federal Aid project site bulletin boards can be found in each Bid Proposal. Appendix I contains one such list and examples of the applicable posters.

At the time the project is started and periodically throughout the duration of the work, the Resident Engineer or a representative should make detailed inspections of the board to be sure that all required notices, posters and statements are displayed. Particular care should be taken to assure that all information such as job number, emergency phone numbers, etc., is appropriate for the particular project and location. All deficiencies should be brought to the attention of the Contractor's superintendent and shall be followed by a written notice if deemed necessary. In addition, all instructions given to the Contractor pertaining to deficiencies should be noted on the Field Report. The Resident Engineer is responsible for assuring proper installation and maintenance of the project site bulletin board.
