NANYANG PRESS HOLDINGS BERHAD

Life Publishers continues to perform well and has enjoyed strong growth in advertising revenue. Life Publishers has one tabloid newspaper and 19 magazines in its stable. Life Publishers continued to push into the exhibition sector with the highly successful Bridal Fair and Angling and Outdoor Recreation Fair.

Life Publishers will leverage its market leading brands to broaden its coverage of key sectors and diversify its earnings from sponsorship, exhibitions and electronic media.

Citta Bella also continued to be profitable. Mommy Baby, launched in October 2003, is the largest-selling

monthly parenting magazine in the country, but it has yet to break even.

Nanyang.Com is the most popular Chinese website in the country, and it is the only website in Malaysia

providing news videos. We will continue to look for ways to increase e-commerce opportunities and expand content in the year ahead.

We began developing our multi-media skills last year by producing short features for a 13-episode season on Channel 9 TV. We have been training some our journalists to be newsreaders, TV presenters and multi-

media journalists.

Reporters perform multiple tasks and have become multi-skilled in the process. The goal is to create one unit distributing news through several different mediums and to generate new advertising revenue through the sale of innovative multimedia solutions.

Quality journalism is the key to success, and our newspapers and magazines consistently are award winners.

Nanyang Siang Pau won many awards, including the Malaysian Press Institute’s Best Journalist of the Year Award, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Journalist of the Year Award, British Council - SUHAKAM Journalist Award, Tan Sri Teong Teck Leng Commentary and Editorial Award and Dato’ Tan Leong Ming Photography

Award.

The China Press also won two Dato Wong Kee Tat Awards and one Yap Yong Seong Award.

Our Feminine magazine writer won the Malaysian Press Institute Award for Best Magazine Writer.
