Job Cluster:N/A

Reports To:Race Manager, Race Marshall

Purpose:To ensure that a safe trail is developed for racing

Pre-Event Functions:

Become familiar with the website so that you can check it for updates.

Read the general guidelines.

Find someone to shadow you.

1.

Responsible for designing and developing the race trail.

2.

Should consult with the Race Marshall and local mushers to ensure race rules and safety considerations are addressed.

3.

Responsible for obtaining the materials needed to design, develop, equip and maintain the race trail throughout the year.

4.

Responsible for arranging people necessary to groom, dress and maintain the trail.

5.

Responsible for arranging to have all posts, fences, bales and markers set along the trail course as is necessary.

6.

Must keep the Race Manager informed of the trail conditions leading up to the race and any problems with the race trail on race days.

Event Functions:

Friday night

Attend registration wearing your vest and nametag.

Saturday and Sunday

Trail management is handed over to the race days Trail Boss for the duration of the event.

Saturday night

Sunday Closing

Return any Society materials to the Race Office.
