July is Anti-boredom Month, Blueberries Month, Hot Dog Month, Ice Cream Month, Picnic Month, Wheelchair Beau- tification Month and Women's Motorcy- cle Month.

This log cabin is from the old Yates property at the corner of Milwaukee & fifth avenues and is being relocated to Volunteer Park which is soon to be renamed Centennial Park. I have heard that it was built as a playhouse for the Yates kids.

Pacific Days 2009 will celebrate Pacific’s 100th birthday! This year Pacific Partnerships has lots of thing to see and do for kids and adults alike. Activities will include free kids games, big inflatable's for kids big and small, their annual Car Bash (with proceeds going to the ‘Holiday Giving Tree’), raffle draw- ings, lots of food and craft vendors and much more.

Starting Friday and then through the weekend food and craft vendors will be making their

wares available, the White River Chainsaw Carving Championships will be in full swing, and there will be live music by ‘Renee & the

Friday at 6 pm the Kids Parade will make its way from Milwaukee Ave to Pacific Park and kids are encouraged to decorate their bikes and join the pa- rade. Participants can stop by the Community Center before the parade to enjoy ice cream cones, Dairy Queen coupons and lots of fun. Helmets will be required to participate, but, if you don't have one come by the Pacific/Algona Community Center and we will give you one. The most original and crea- tively decorated child participant in the parade will win an ice cream cake from Dairy Queen.

On Saturday the fun continues with our annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser from 7:30 am to 10:00 am then the Pa- cific Days Parade will start at 10:00 am. There are many more fun and exciting events taking place at this years celebration, so be sure to stop by sometime on the weekend of July 10th- 12th and enjoy the fun, fun, fun!

Keep in mind, Pacific Partnerships has a few surprises in store this year, so don’t miss out.
