In New Business, Illustrious Brother Sid Rosenbaum, 33° introduced a new idea for fund raising proposed by Brother Larry Rosenbaum, 32° KCCH. Brother Larry proposed a 50/50 pot at Valley Council meetings and Reunions to raise moneys for the maintenance of the building. Half the proceeds would be used for building maintenance and restoration and half the proceeds would go to the winner of the drawing. Illustrious Brother Dale Roller, 33° asked the Leadership to create and appoint a Ways and Means Committee to coordinate fund raising activities. Brother Tim Thomas, 32° KCCH announced a Chance to Advance Class will be held in Springfield on February 27. Brother Mike Bodine, 32° KCCH announced the Traitor Episode to be presented on that same day in Monett.
The Secretary then announced a Turkey Shotgun Raffle being organized by Illustrious Brother Don Roller, 33° to help raise funds for repair of the north parapet terracotta wall. Tickets will be sold for $1 each or six tickets for $5. All ticket sales need to be forwarded to the Office before the March Reunion. The drawing for the shotgun will be held at the March Reunion. Illustrious Brother Dale Roller, 33° then promoted the idea and asked the members to get behind the effort.
Illustrious Brother T. Wayne Anderson, 33° then thanked Illustrious Brother Harry Guinn, 33° and Illustrious Brother Richard Lowrey, 33° for their work on the budget and told them they were doing a good job for the Valley.
The next regular meeting of the Joplin Valley Council and Lodge of Perfection will be on March 4th in Joplin with refreshments at 6:00pm and the meeting will begin at 7:00pm.
Finally, the box of Fraternal Assistance was passed with a grateful acknowledgement from Ill. Brother Harry Guinn, 33°.
