Exploring Activities

-Computer lab

-Four Seasons Worksheet

Take children down to a computer lab so that every child may use a computer.

(Teacher may want to set up each computer with the website that will be used with worksheet to save time and confusion)

Question: What are some things that are found in each season?

Procedure:

1.

Explain the Four Seasons worksheet to the class.  (Worksheet can be found attached to lesson plan)

2.

Let each child click on the 4 different seasons given on the webpage, and explain how to get back to the main page.

3.

Explain the worksheet to the class and what you expect them to do on the worksheet.

4.

Let children start on their worksheet.

Give children 20-30 minutes to complete worksheet on the computer.

Data: All data will be recorded on student’s worksheet.

Analysis: What kind of weather is it in each season? Why do you think it is important to understand the seasons?

Choice Theory-students have choice of which object they would like to write in each category.

Cognitive Theory-using prior knowledge to help understand and complete activity.

Thematic Instruction-using computer knowledge and reading to complete activity about seasons.

Problem Based Learning-students are taking what they know about computers to help complete worksheet.
