-Favorite season handout

given at the end of the lesson. The assignment will be to pick their favorite season and draw a picture of the season. They will then have to write on a separate sheet of paper describing why they chose that season and a fun activity they can do during that season.(See attached handout)

Choice Theory-students are given a choice to pick favorite season and draw a picture of it.

Cognitive Theory-students must think of the four seasons and know from previous knowledge which one they would like to choose.

Thematic Instruction-students are using knowledge to draw a picture of a season.

Inquiry-taking what they have learned and picturing in their mind what that season will look like.

Assessment

On the following day, a small quiz will be given to the class to review what was learned on the previous day. Questions as followed:

What are the 4 seasons?

2)

What season is July in?

3)

Name a type of clothing you wear in December.

Quizzes will be collected to be graded. Rubric goes as followed:

-3 points for all correct responses

-2 points for 2 correct responses

-1 point for 1 correct response

-0 points for no correct response

Each child will then present their favorite season worksheet to the class and explain why they chose that season.

Cognitive Theory-children are to take previous knowledge from day before and use it to complete quiz and explain favorite season.

Higher Order Thinking-children are using this by explaining to the class their favorite season.

Problem Based Learning-taking what they have learned from lesson and applying it do quiz.
