Applications

-Review Worksheet

A homework assignment will be given to each child at the end of the day to review what they have learned in class on matter. (See Chapter 1 Assessment Handout)

Along with worksheet, each child will also have an assignment of finding each of these states at home to share with the class the next day.

Theories:

-Choice Theory-students have a choice of what object they believe is a liquid, solid, or gas.

-Higher Order Thinking-using skills of knowledge and understanding to complete homework.

Methods:

-Problem Based-Learning-taking what they learned to help find objects at home.

Assessment

-Discussion/Review

-Matter Song

On the following day the class will have a review on matter and the different forms it has. They will do this by doing a graphic organizer on the board together as a class.

Children should ask questions on any confusion they might have on matter.

Children will then present what kind of objects they seen at home of each different state.

As a class, the matter song will be sung again to also help with the review of matter.

-Choice Theory- children have a choice of how they would like to present and answer questions.

-Learning Modalities-using verbal and music skills to sing song.

Methods:

-Problem Based Learning -taking what they learned about matter and applying it to information.

-Graphic Organizer-using a web on board to help further understand matter.
