Here is a chance to practice this process. Think of one goal you need to accomplish on your path to recovery. What are some obstacles that might get in your way? What are the steps you need to take in order to meet the goal? Remember to start by identifying the smallest steps possible.
1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
Identify one or two things that you will accomplish over the next couple of days. Make it a small goal that you have a good chance of accomplishing. For example, if your longerterm goal is to get a job, make your goal for the next couple of days to buy the newspaper and start looking at the job listings, or go online and surf Monster.com or Craigslist.org.
