Session 3: Trigger Thought Craving Use
Thoughts Become Cravings
The beginnings of cravings to use crystal or have unsafe sex are not always easy to recognize. Somehow a thought about using seems to get "stuck" in your mind. The longer you think about it, the more you find yourself wanting to use. But you do have a CHOICE about continuing to think about it. Remember that the longer you CHOOSE to think about using, the closer you let yourself get to a relapse.
The "Automatic" Process
Thinking about crystal, wanting to use, and actually using can all seem to run together. But there is a typical order to this:

Stopping the thought as soon as you recognize it is the key to success in avoiding this road to relapse. The sooner you stop the thoughts, the less time the urges have a chance to build.
A New Sequence
