NOTICE TO ALL INTERESTED PARTIES REGARDING
ARIZONA COLORADO RIVER ENTITLEMENTS
Arizona Recreational Facilities, LLC, a Missouri limited liability company (“ARF”) proposes to transfer 50 acre-feet of its Colorado River water entitlement to General Motors, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“GM”). The water is currently used to irrigate approximately 8.33 acres of ARF owned farmland located within Cibola Valley Irrigation and Drainage District in La Paz County, Arizona. GM plans to use the 50 acre-feet entitlement to cover Colorado River water use at its vehicle testing facility that is located within the U.S. Army’s Yuma Proving Ground in Yuma County, Arizona.
This proposed transfer would change both the type of use and the place of use associated with an existing Colorado River water entitlement. The Arizona Department of Water Resources (“Department”) will evaluate the proposed transfer from ARF to GM in accordance with the Department’s May 24, 2004 Policy and Procedures for Transferring an Entitlement of Colorado River Water (“Colorado River Transfer Policy”). The public is invited to comment on this proposed transfer of a Colorado River water entitlement. The Department’s Colorado River Transfer Policy and the transfer documents may be reviewed, and copies may be purchased, at the Department’s Phoenix office (address listed above).
Written Public Comments
The Director of the Department will accept public comments regarding the intended transfer through July 11, 2011. Written public comment will be considered during the Director’s review. Please send comments to the address listed above.
